Installations and Celebrations.

The R.W.Prov.G.M. held a virtual meeting with his executive on 4th August 2020 and concluded that due to the ever-changing situation with the current crisis it will be necessary to curtail some Masonic activities in September and October 2020.

1.
There will be no Provincial Team visits during September and October.

2.
Installation Representatives will not be present at any Installation Meeting at which they were to be the Principal Guest during September and October. For Lodges that intend to hold their Installation meetings it would be appropriate for the most senior Lodge member attending to represent the R.W.Prov.G.M. on this occasion. A Representative is not a constitutional requirement.

3.
There is however nothing to prevent a Brother from attending any lodge in a private capacity.

4.
All anniversary celebrations for lodge brethren will not take place officially. A formal celebration will be arranged for a later date if requested. The lodge members may, if they wish, hold a private celebration.

Please understand, this has not been an easy decision for the R.W.Prov.G.M to make, but there are too many uncertainties to be able to resume normal activities at present.

Could I remind Secretaries and Scribes that you are required to issue summonses for all meetings scheduled in your By-Laws following the lifting of the suspension of Masonic activities on the 17th July 2020.

If that meeting cannot subsequently take place because the venue is closed or members have indicated their unwillingness to attend, the meeting shall be declared abandoned on the day it is scheduled to take place.

Fraternal regards,
Andrew W. Dickson
Prov.G.Secretary.
